Well the, almost, last Saturday before Christmas has passed by. Cat has gone roaring off to meet some chap somewhere near Stonehenge, not a druid. She left here yesterday at four and arrived there just after eight, we have heard nothing more since.
We tried to do our normal shopping in Peterborough, but were unable to get beyond the outskirts as the roads were so busy even at nine fifteen in the morning. We turned around and went to March instead, much easier. It was a bit cooler yesterday, about 6C and today is about the same, if not cooler, perhaps winter is on its way. The days are getting much shorter now, dark at 4pm.
The new cooker is quite good at heating up pasties, nothing ambitious yet as it is not in position, I pity the poor plumber on Monday when Liz starts to phone him. She has gone off with her little prayer mat in the boot of the car and is no doubt praying for a plumber to come on Monday.

We went out to March again last night for a couple of drinks with Cherry and Steve, their pictures are in the halloween ensemble.
We had a pleasant evening, discussing their upcoming nuptials and the trickled off home at eleven, closing time for the pubs. On leaving the town of March we came accross flashing blue and red lights, the police, I thought there had been an accident, wrong. They were stopping traffic. The policeman babbled something about the drink driving campaign and had I had anything to drink tonight? "yes a couple of beers" "Would you mind pulling up next to our vehicle and stepping out a moment?"
They then almost seemed to have a fight over who was going to breathalise me. I once again got a whole spiel, which included something about green amber and red lights, I gather green was ok and red go directly to jail. I must be getting deaf in my old age. I was told to blow in the tube and only stop when he told me, I ran out of breathe before he told me, so I had to try again, I managed to get a green, I guesed that was a pass as we were sent on our merry way, thank goodness they did not test Liz she might have got a red, on second thoughts...... na they are probably gone by now. Thus ended the day.
